Heavy rain throughout the country

According to the Department of Meteorology existing rainy condition all over the island are expected to continue on the coming days.

Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur over most parts of the island after 1.00pm.

There is less traffic today morning (03 May) compared to yesterday as there is relatively less rain in the morning in Colombo District.

Showers are expectedly to occur in coastal areas of Western and Southern provinces and in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Puttalam districts during the morning too.

Fairly heavy showers of about 100 mm are likely at some places in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa district. Heavy showers above 75 mm are likely to be observed elsewhere in the island as well.
