Landslide warnings have been issued for several areas, including Kegalle. Matara and Badulla districts.
According to the National Building Research Institute, these warnings have been issued to the divisional secretaries of several districts due to the ongoing heavy rains.
Landslide warnings have been issued to Haldummulla and Pasara Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Badulla District, Kegalle Divisional Secretariat Division in Kegalle District and Kotopola and Pasgoda Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Matara District.
According to Department of Meteorology heavy rainfall is expected throughout the islandfurther increasing the risk of landslides.
