All liquor shops in the country will be closed from May 4 to 6 in view of the Vesak Festival on the orders of the Excise Commissioner General following a decision taken by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Excise superintendents around the country have been issued specific instructions to ensure that all liquor outlets are closed from May 4 to 6 in view of the Vesak festival.
They have been directed to take action against those who do not comply with the order.
Over 1,000 Excise officers have been deployed to the enforcement of the law.
