A special discussion was held yesterday between officials of the Power and Energy Ministry and the Country Representative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and experts in the energy sector on the proposed restructuring process.
Attention was drawn on renewable energy projects, regulation of the electricity sector, electricity tariffs, development of infrastructure in the electricity sector.
Besides, loan schemes implemented for renewable energy development were also discussed. The ADB representatives expressed their consent on providing technical and financial support to the restructuring programmes of the Electricity Board as well as allocating loan assistance for the next four years.
