The custom of panting a tree is very much a part of the Sinhala and Tamil new year, this year the auspicious time for planting tree is scheduled for tomorrow (20 April) at 6 38pm.
In light of this the Ministry of Agriculture has requested the people of the country to plant a perennial crop that will bear fruits when planting a tree tomorrow.
The Ministry of Agriculture has made all arrangements to celebrate the customers of planting trees this year under the theme ‘Let's plant a plant that bears fruit’.
