The All Ceylon Egg Producers’ Association has announced that starting from May 1, an egg will be provided to the consumers for less than Rs.46. The President of the association Sarath Ratnayake said that the association has decided to sell an egg which used to cost between Rs. 60 to 70 before the New Year for Rs. 50. He said that the Government’s support for the development of the local egg industry is insufficient.
