95 th Oscar Academy award ceremony Is now underway in Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles. This year’s host for the show was Jimmy Kimmel hosting the show for the third time after the 89 th and 90 th editions of the ceremony in 2017 and 2018.
In an unprecedented manner, ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ won seven Oscars, including best picture, director, original screen play, lead actress, supporting actress and actor. In fact, Michelle Yeoh has made history being the first Asian to win an Oscar for best actress. Ke Huy Quan winning the best supporting actor joined her in making history, by being the first two Asians to win in the same year and from the same movie.
Just to indicate the fierce nature of the competition at Oscars this time, best film of the year had 10 nominated movies, the highest number of movies nominations in the history of the Oscars and the award was won by Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Academy Award for the Best original song was won by ‘Naatu Naatu’ in the movie, RRR, which was also a historic occasion as this was the first time an Indian song has gotten nominated and won in this category.
Brendan Fraser won the Oscar for best lead actor for his performance in ‘the Whale’.
