Sri Lanka contests World Para Athletics Grand Prix

Sri Lanka is in the fray at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix that begins today in Dubai where over 650 athletes from 67 countries will be in action.

The World Para Athletics Grand Prix is the qualifier for Paralympic athletes to compete at the World Para Athletics Championship 2023 to be held in Paris, France.

Sri Lanka is represented by Nuwandika Indika – 100M and Long Jump (T44), Saman Subhasinha – 100M and 400M (T47), Pradeep Somasiri – 1,500M (T47) and Anila Prasanna Jayalath – 100M and Long Jump (T42) accompanied by two officials, Brigadier PRBA Bandara – Team Manager and PDR Sumantha – coach. The highly competitive tourney is expected to attract over 650 athletes from 67 countries.
