
Three Year-9 students from the British School in Colombo (BSC) Aleeza Salie, Arun Sumathiratne and Praveen Athauda-Arachchi displayed their mathematical skills to steal the limelight at the Infinity 2023 International Mathematics Competition at the Atlas Skill Tech University in Mumbai, India recently.
In the individual rounds, Sumathiratne received a silver certificate and Athauda-Arachchi received a gold certificate from among 150 students in the senior category.
In the group round of Bulb Your Ideas, the BSC trio of Salie, Sumathiratne and Athauda-Arachchi were selected as one of the top six teams out of 50 and in the presentation of the competition’s final round, they were placed second.
This event was hosted by the Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA) in collaboration with BITS Pilani and the University of Waterloo (Faculty of Mathematics).
