Western Province Adhikarana Sanghanayake Ven.Thihagoda Bhaddhya Thera said the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has done the biggest destruction to the country after Prabhakaran.
He said that the people have not forgotten the destruction that the JVP has done to the country in the past and that even though it appears in the name of the Jathika Jana Balavegaya, it is still the same vicious party it was.
The Thera made this comment while speaking in the presence of the media after meeting the Mahanayake Theras of the Asgiriya and Malwatte Chapters and receiving their blessings, together with Dhanawardena Guruge who was appointed as the head of Buddhist Affairs of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya.
He said young people who are not aware of the past are gathering around the Jathika Jana Balavegaya.
“It is a well-known fact that the JVP, was responsible for many destructive acts such as the attack on the Dalada Maligawa, the killing of monks, and the destruction of state property. The Thera
also said that if governance of the country goes to a group which does not accept the fact that they committed offences, anyone can imagine the situation that will arise.
