The CID informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis that the maid who worked at millionaire businessman’s Onesh Subasinghe’s house in a statement had said she heard Subasinghe’s wife saying to him “I can’t stay here, I can’t eat this food, if you don’t let me go, I will kill you one day”.
The Criminal Investigation Department stated this while reporting the facts to the Court regarding the death of Onesh Subasinghe, a millionaire businessman who died in Indonesia. The Criminal Investigation Department told the Court that they are conducting an investigation into the death of Onesh Subasinghe and that they have obtained statements from five employees working at his residence in Narahenpita.
Regarding the incident, the Criminal Investigation Department stated before the Court that based on a complaint made by one of the deceased’s brothers, Subhash Subhasinghe, that the death was suspicious, investigations have been initiated. He had also told the CID that his brother was planning to divorce his wife Rosalie and he had not contacted the family after going abroad.
