Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and the Independent Television Network under the guidance of the Mass Media Ministry will begin telecasting award winning Sinhala movies which had made lasting impact on Sri Lankan cinemagoers, from today with a half an hour discussion on the acting, evolution of the film for its overall success and technical elements.
The programme will commence with the screening of ‘Sandeshaya’ film directed by veteran filmmaker Dr.Lester James Peries on Rupavahini today (February 17).
The ITN will also start this programme tomorrow (February 18) with the screening of an award winning Sinhala movie ‘Sikuruliya’ at 1 p.m.
The National Film Corporation, National Television and Independent Television Network have planned to start several programs for the development and promotion of Sinhala cinema.
National Television and Independent Television have planned to start some special cinema programmes and accordingly, this programme has been organised with the aim of providing an opportunity to the public to view many cinema works that have been honoured and awarded domestically and abroad.
