17 February, 2023

A request made by the Kollupitiya Police to seal off the office of Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Chairman Janaka Rathnayake at the Merchant Tower building and provide police protection was allowed by Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday. The Kollupitiya Police informed Court that they have received intelligence reports that sensitive   and vital documents at the chairman’s office may be misplaced as the chairman is presently out of the country.

After considering the submissions made by the police, the magistrate order the police seal off the office and provide protection until the PUCSL chairman returns to the country.
