Over 12,000 graduates will be recruited to Government schools under the first stage. The gazette notification will be issued this week and a competitive examination will be held for the applicants, Education Ministry Secretary M.N. Ranasinghe told the Sunday Observer.
He said there will be nearly 10,000 teacher transfers among national schools countrywide with the commencement of the first school term for 2023 in March.
Teachers who have served in the same school for over 10 years will be transferred to the schools of their choice.
Commissioner General of Examinations, Amith Jayasundara said that the GCE (AL) examination - 2022 will commence on January 23 and senior school teachers are now being registered to evaluate the answer scripts of the examination. Those who wish to apply can refer to the website of the Examinations Department, he added.
