President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed his International Climate Change Adviser Erik Solheim and Senior Advisor on Climate Change Ruwan Wijewardena to arrange an International Renewable Energy Summit in Sri Lanka.
The summit will be in the mid-half of 2023. World leaders in renewable energy will be invited to the summit including American business magnate Bill Gates. Wijewardene said the country would develop its renewable energy sector in consultation with world leaders attending the envisioned energy summit.
