Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in his Christmas message stated Christmas reminds us of the birth of Jesus Christ, who set an example to look at the world realistically. Lets us make a new foundation for a society that values and humanity.

He said it will be a real-time need based on the philosophy of Jesus Christ, who dedicated himself to freeing oppressed people and creating a better society.

Christmas can mark a new beginning for a Sri Lanka that is economically and socially prosperous, where conflicts are resolved by eliminating hatred and cruelty.

“Adhering to wonderful lessons of peace, reconciliation and equality, let us celebrate this Christmas meaningfully by lending a helping hand to others,” he added.
