St. Joseph’s College and Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo maintained their lead in the points table at the end of day four at the 47th Milo Schools Swimming and Aquatic Championship being held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium swimming pool yesterday.

St Joseph’s were comfortably on top in the boys’ category with 386 points, followed by traditional rivals St Peter’s and Lyceum Nugegoda in second and third places.

In the girls’ category, Visakha continued to lead the points tally with 259, followed by Ladies College and Mahamaya Girls School Kandy.

Meanwhile, Hiruki de Silva of Gateway College, Colombo established a new meet record in the U-18 Girls’ 50m with a time of 28.30. Including Hiruki’s record, 15 new records were established.

Meanwhile Royal College and Bishop’s College finished on top in the overall points table in the diving events. Royal had collected 244 points while Bishop’s had 175 points to lead. (TBR)
