One of the country’s oldest cricket playing institutions, Colombo Colts Cricket Club heralded their newly built three-storey club by lighting up a glittering Christmas Tree on Thursday under the patronage of former Sri Lanka Cricket secretary Nishantha Ranatunga who is now the club’s president.
The celebration was held in the presence of the club’s secretary Major Gen. Shiral Abesekera, Executive Committee members, the general membership and their family members while a choir sang popular Christmas carols led by Annette Fernando.
Like in past years Colts will also have their annual Christmas Party on December 23 with Rajiv and the Clan in attendance while reservations could be made by calling 0778792332. Colts have also drawn up plans to mark their 150th anniversary next year on a grand scale.
