The Indian Government has been implementing a “Scholarship Program for Diaspora Children [SPDC]” since 2006-07. Assistance is provided to the Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indian (NRIs) for pursuing Undergraduate courses in Indian Universities/Institutes under the scheme.
They are entitled to get financial assistance to pursue professional and non- professional courses (except Medical and related courses). Only fresh year Students (1 year) are eligible to apply.
Sri Lankan students under the mentioned categories are also eligible for the scholarship.
Details about the scholarship are available at http://www.spdcindia.gov.in/login/guideline.php. Eligible candidates can submit their applications on the portal by November 30.
