Sixteen past pupils’ teams of schools participated in the C rugby championship that was played at Longdon Place yesterday in a carnival-like atmosphere.
The rugby was played in the tag format and each team consisted of two women’s players along with five men’s players.
The playing field was half the size of a normal rugby area and some exciting moves were witnessed during the evening.
The finals were scheduled to be played at 9 pm along with three exhibition games on the card.
