Ruhuna Science Faculty team to ascertain damage

6 November, 2022

A team from the Ruhuna University’s Science Faculty has begun an investigation to assess the damage caused to the Yala National Park and its wildlife due to the October 22 reckless driving incident.

The Uva Provincial Assistant Director of the Department of Wildlife, A.D.U. Indrajith said a six-member team on Friday entered the forest’s Mahaseelawa to determine whether the alleged unruly conduct of the suspects disturbed wildlife in that region.

They have collected the data and photographs of the environment, said Indrajith.

He said the team would prepare a report on the damages and produce it in courts.
