Chanaka Perera remains the leader in the Sri Lanka Golf Ranking Tournament held at the Nuwara Eliya golf course from October 11 to 14.
Perera returned with a top gross score of 291 from four rounds on a course that was not easy to negotiate. He pipped Uchitha Ranasinghe by 4 strokes into second place.
Priya Hemantha who is the golf coach in Anuradhapura, was placed third with a gross score of 296, only a single stroke behind Uchitha in a closely fought tussle.
Chalitha Pushpika was placed fourth with a gross score of 317, but officially he is the second runner-up of this tournament, because Priya Hemantha as a coach participated on behalf of all Sri Lankan golf players.
Chanaka and Uchitha are warming up to participate in the forthcoming Asia Pacific Golf Tournament in Thailand in November and should improve further if they are to make the cut at this event. (TBR)
