A player from the Sabaragamuwa Province team is tackled by a Western Province player on the first day of the Sri Lanka Sevens at the Race Course ground in Colombo yesterday
Havelocks and CR and FC were leading in their respective groups at the end of the first day of Inter-Club Rugby Sevens tournament held at the Race Course ground in Colombo yesterday.
CR led in the group A in segment 1 among the clubs while Havelocks led in group B in segment 1 from among the clubs.
Navy SC scored as many as 41 points to nil in their match against Air Force in a group B fixture.
Wayamba NY obtained the highest score in the tournament scoring 43 points against Uva in a group D fixture.
Another team that surprised everyone was Blue Whales from the Eastern Province who beat Uva by 19 points to 5 in a late afternoon game in group D.
