Over 250 wild jumbos and tuskers die in nine months

Almost 258 wild elephants and tuskers are reported to have died in the forests during the past nine months of this year, a spokesman for the Wildlife Conservation Department said.

Thirty-five elephants died due to shooting by farmers and poachers while 25 tuskers and elephants had died due to electrocution. Another 30 wild jumbos died due to swallowing hakka patas.
