The inaugural Pakistan Junior League has picked two Sri Lanka under-19 players in Shevon Daniel and Lahiru Dawatage.
Initially, Sri Lanka had named five players in Shevon Daniel, Lahiru Dawatage, Anjala Bandara, Malsha Tharupathi and Lahiru Abeysinghe in the player draft of the Pakistan Junior League.
But only Daniel and Dawatage were picked by the franchises in the draft held on Thursday (8).
Shevon Daniel the dashing left-hander will play for Gujranwala Giants while wicket-keeper batsman Lahiru Dawatage will represent Hyderabad Hunters.
Six franchise teams, namely Bahawalpur Royals, Gujranwala Giants, Gwadar Sharks, Hyderabad Hunters, Mardan Warriors and Rawalpindi Raiders will take part in the competition. The first edition of the Pakistan Junior League will be held from October 6 to 21 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
