United National Party’s 76th Convention

The United National Party’s (UNP) 76th Convention was held at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo on Tuesday (September 6) under the theme Ekwemu (Let’s Unite). The Convention was held under the patronage of UNP Leader and President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The UNP held this year’s Convention under a President of the Party after 28 years. The last time the UNP held an Annual Convention under a UNP President was in 1993. The UNP Convention was organised by a committee headed by Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene. Religious ceremonies were also held in all constituencies across the country to mark the Convention.
