A well known educationist Mrs. Pushpa Kalubowila, who worked as the principal of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Nugegoda Anula Vidyalaya and Nugegoda Samudradevi Girls’ College, has passed away. Her last rituals were done on Friday (July 29) at the Borella Jayaratne parlour.
Pushpa Kalubowila was a bright student of Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya and in 1975, after studying Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Peradeniya, she obtained her post-graduate degree from the University of Colombo.
She was also a member of the National Education Commission in 2013. She dedicated herself to the betterment of the school for most of her teaching career.
She cooperated with the School Development Society, the Alumni Association of Sirimavo Bandaranaike College, and performed invaluable services for the generation of brilliant female students.
