A picnic to Nuwara Wewa

9 July, 2022

My family went on a picnic to Nuwara Wewa to have a family fun time.

We got our towels, soap, and bathing clothes, a flask of tea and some snacks too. My mother made some sandwiches and put them In to a lunchbox.

We stopped our car on the bank of the Nuwara Wewa and changed into bathing clothes.

We had a swim and played water games.

Then we enjoyed the snacks. My father also joined us to pass the ball. My mother sat on a log and watched us play.

We played till we were hungry and had our home-made lunch sitting in the shade of a big tree on the bank of the Nuwara Wewa.

My mother had cooked a delicious meal with rice, sambol, chick pea curry, mallum and a potato curry. The wind blew over the Nuwara Wewa, adding more taste to our picnic lunch. It was the most delicious meal I ever had.

The sun was ready to dip in the Nuwara Wewa. So, we packed our picnic basket and started our journey back home.
