12 June, 2022

The police in Japan are questioning a 29-year-old Sri Lankan man in connection with the death of another Sri Lankan at a trading company in Bando City.

The local police rushed to the trading complex after receiving an urgent call that a brawl had broken out between workers employed at the complex, foreign media reported.

On reaching the scene police found a Sri Lankan man identified as Maludena Gedara Darmadasa Upul Rohana Darmadasa, bleeding from his left shoulder.

He later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. He was a resident of Bando City.

A blood smeared knife was also recovered from the scene.

Fellow workers told police that both the victim and the suspect were involved in a simmering dispute for a considerable period of time.

Police said that they have launched a homicide probe into the incident. (NHK)
