The Royal College Leo Club won many awards at the Lions Awards for Leos. The 17th Annual District Convention was held on October 22 at the Taj Samudra.
The Leo Club of Royal College was chartered on October 22, 2020 under the guidance of the Past District Governor and Chairman for Leos Dr. Lion Lasantha Goonawardena. Since then, it has spared no effort in ensuring that the objectives and promises made by the club were fulfilled. The Leo Club of Royal College has made steady progress by growing its member base from a mere thirty to over three- hundred officially registered members.
As a fairly new club that was set up less than two years ago, the Leo Club of Royal College was the victim of a multitude of challenges such as the lack of recognition, less experienced members, and a hoard of documentation. Another major obstacle was that as a club where the majority of the projects organised require a lot of physical interactions, the Leo Clubs were harmed the most compared to certain others. But despite these challenges, the past president of the club, Leo Lion Fazri Amith, and his team worked hard in making sure that they organise quality projects.
This was carried through by the President of the Leo Club of Royal College for the year 2021/22 Leo Lion Yoshelle Marasinghe who ensured that the legacy was carried down and enhanced. For the ambitions and goals set, the Leos of Royal College had worked tirelessly for the past two years to ensure that each individual project and activity was organised with the highest quality.
It is through these sacrifices that the club and its members bagged ten special awards at the 17th Annual District Convention.
