Many Hindus from across the island arrived in Kataragama and 2,500 coconuts were dashed in front of the Kataragama Devalaya as a traditional devotion to the Gods. A group of Norwegian professors and lecturers also paid homage to the gods by performing Kawadi dances and sought the blessings for the uplift of their spirits.
