State Minister of Samurdhi, Household Economy, Micro Finance, Self-Employment and Business Development Shehan Semasinghe said that Samurdhi beneficiary families will be issued electronic bank cards to transact easily with Samurdhi Banks countrywide. At present 1,074 Samurdhi banks function throughout the country. All these branches are being brought into a sole network to introduce this electronic bank card, the State Minister told the Sunday Observer.
He said the sole objective of the proposed program is to provide Samurdhi families and their family members with facilities with less documents and lower interest rates.
The State Minister said, “The ATM machines are now being installed at all branch office premises countrywide to assist customers to carry out their transactions with much convenience.”
