SLT-Mobitel with the Sri Lanka Chamber of Tourism and Industry conducted a women empowerment program in Arugam Bay recently, in line with the International Women’s Day 2022.
The program which was graced by Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Major General (R) Umar Farooq Burki, recognised women entrepreneurs in the Arugam Bay area, who own micro businesses. SLT-Mobitel and the Pakistan High Commission donated dry rations to the widows who lost their spouse by the Tsunami and Covid-19. General Manager (acting) - North and East Region, SLT M. Pathmachuthan and Deputy General Manager- Eastern Province, SLT Y. Gobinath, President- Chamber of tourism and industry A.M Jauffer, Advisor to the Chamber Tissa Jayaweera and Managing director, Tourism Promotion Bureau Padma Siriwardane participated.
