Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Nagadeepa Purana Raja Maha Vihara in Jaffna yesterday to declare the temple ground as a sacred area. Here the Premier presents the Sannaspathra to the Chief Sangha Nayaka Thera and Chief Incumbent of the Nagadeepa Vihara, Ven. Navadagala Paduma Kitthi Tissa Nayaka Thera. The Most Ven. Ganthune Assaji Maha Nayaka Thera of the Amarapura Sangha Sabha and Buddhist, Religious and Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Prof. Kapila Gunawardena were also present.
