Womb is the initial natural environment every human being encounter and then gets into nature. The interconnection of nature and human existence has shifted from a historical aesthetics to a political landscape. It is a true fact that there’s an affect for human existence of the fall of a leaf from a tree.
But we are facing the tragedy of neglecting the rhythm of this truthful reality creates from nature to man. Are we civilized in the cultural world we have created as a "culture against nature"? Through ‘Humanscape’ I sought to see my dealings with me and myself, me and with others, and with the environment as a systemic connection. I present to you my paintings called "Humanscape" as visual evidence of this process. It is political to experience multiple moments in life, sometimes vibrant, sometimes terrible, sometimes scary and sometimes anxious. As I believe changing this global reality, is also a political project.
‘Humanscape’ an art exhibition by Prageeth Rathnayake will be held At Lionel Wendt Gallery From 4th to 6th March, 2022.
