Wijemanne and Anjalika outsmart the rest at SSC Open

Thehan Wijemanne of Royal College and Anjalika Kurera of Ave Maria Convent Negombo emerged men’s and women’s Open champions at the First Capital SSC Open tennis championship played at SSC tennis courts yesterday

Wijemanne made a two straight sets win over Viravanathan in the final. In the first set Wijemanne had to a close call which ended with a 7/6 win while in the second set he finished comfortably 6/1 to win the title .

Meanwhile in the women’s Open final Anjalika had an easy two sets win over Janali Manamperi 6/1, 6/3 to win the title .
