
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has again called upon the Government to give the go-ahead to increase fuel prices.However, CPC chairman Sumith Wijesinghe said that the Government is yet to take a decision.
The CPC has stressed the urgent need to increase fuel prices in the backdrop of rising crude oil prices in the world market and also to minimise losses.
The CPC has presented the price revisions it is seeking to Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila.
Lanka IOC, increased fuel prices from midnight on February 6.
Following Lanka IOC’s move, the CPC also called upon the Government to permit a price increase. However, the Energy Minister earlier said he will not allow a price hike.
