All state and private institutions should appoint an official to handle Covid-19 control at workplaces swiftly, the Director of the Environmental and Occupational Health Unit of the Health Ministry, Dr. Thilak Siriwardhana said.
He told a press briefing at the Health Promotion Bureau in Colombo on Friday that all offices are full of employees and there is interaction among them which promotes the spread of Covid-19.
Therefore, a focal point official is essential to handle Covid-19 at offices. Dr. Siriwardhana said that if employees cannot obtain leave easily they can arrange to obtain the booster dose on a Friday and they can rest at home on the weekend. The booster dose should be obtained by all employees.
