Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that the Government will launch the QR code to give easy access to people’s Covid-19 vaccine records and the vaccine card will be compulsory to enter public places including cinemas from 2022.
The digital vaccine card can be downloaded to your phone, tablet or computer.
The Minister said that the Government has received enough Pfizer BioNTech vaccines to administer the booster dose for the 13.5 million population over 30 years. He said that the doctors have warned that vaccines are important to face the challenges posed by the invasive Omicron variant which is spreading like wildfire in Europe and the US.
Minister Rambukwella called upon people to get the booster dose at the first opportunity.
