Sri Lanka's most modern suspended bridge

22 August, 2021
The Ministry of Highways has completed 98.5 percent of the construction work of the New Kelani Bridge, an engineering design known as the extradosed type, which uses stay cables to connect two main pylons with the bridge deck and to share the weight of the loads from the bridge deck. The Ministry hopes to complete the entire project in the coming weeks as the bridge will be commissioned next month.
