The overseas and local members of Royal College Tamil Class 1980 continued their service to society with the distribution of food parcels in the Polannaruwa District.
Some 200 food parcels were distributed to needy families in the Thimbirigaswewa Village who were severely affected due to the impact of Covid-19.
This distribution was made through Major General Mahesh Abeyaratne - Commandant forward maintenance area East with the participation of Ven Poojja Patunugama Sujatha Himi of the Thimbirigaswewa Temple on August, 17, 2021.
Retired Major General Ravi Ratnasingham who lives in the USA was instrumental in harnessing the support of his Tamil Classmates living overseas and in Sri Lanka with their generous contributions to make this initiative a success with the help of the Army officers of the Forward Maintenance area east and the Ven. bhikkhus of the Thimbirigaswewa temple.
