Monopoly
Monopoly is one of the most famous and exciting board games you can come across. In this economic-themed game, players battle it out by rolling two dices on the board and moving their chosen pieces around it, all the while buying and trading properties and trying to build houses and hotels on them. The game can be played between two to four players. The main point of the game is to drive the other players into bankruptcy by making them pay their rents. There are also events where players land in jail and get chances and community chests to either improve or worsen their chances of winning.
While luck and skill play a huge role on the final outcome of the game, it is important to have critical thinking and understanding and make good decisions on the way, while playing this board game.
The player with the greatest number of houses and hotels towards the end of the game, generally takes the win as the other players go bankrupt. It is not surprising as to why Monopoly tops the chart when it comes to board games, as it is a fun and interactive game to play with friends and family.
Jenga
Jenga is a unique kind of board game as it requires more physical action unlike in other board games. Jenga is played with 54 wooden blocks and a tower of 18 layers is formed using three blocks in each layer, placed adjacently. The person who built the Jenga tower gets the first move. He should move one block from any level (other than the top one) and stack it on the topmost level, while making sure that the tower doesn’t collapse.
Likewise, the second player does the same and this procedure continues until the tower finally collapses and the last person to successfully place a block, takes the win. This game however, requires much patience and sharpness and is definitely a topper when it comes to board games.
