Thirteen committees to meet within three weeks

Thirteen committees including the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and Ministerial Consultative Committees will meet during the next three weeks, Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said.

The National Film Corporation has been summoned before the COPE Committee on July 19 under the chairmanship of MP Prof. Charitha Herath. The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Highways will meet on the same day under the chairmanship of Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando.

The Secretary General said the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Mass Media is scheduled on July 20 under the chairmanship of Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella. The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Tourism under the chairmanship of Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga, Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice under the chairmanship of Minister of Justice Ali Sabry and the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Health under the chairmanship of Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi will also meet on August 3.

Dasanayake said the Ministerial Consultative Committee on the Foreign Ministry is scheduled to be held on August 4 under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Environment will convene on August 5 under the chairmanship of Minister of Environment Mahinda Amaraweera and the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice will also meet on the same day.

The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Fisheries will meet on the same day under the chairmanship of Minister of Fisheries Douglas Devananda.

The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice is scheduled on August 17. The Consultative Committee on Wildlife will meet under the chairmanship of Minister of Wildlife and Forest Conservation C. B. Ratnayake on the same day. The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice will meet on August 18. The Committee on High Posts is scheduled to meet on August 19.
