For the third time running cricket fans in Sri Lanka who have supported the team even in times of adversity will be deprived of witnessing yet another series in the country, this time the India tour which features three ODIs and an equal number of T20s.
They are some of the most neglected sports followers in the world while cricket fans are able to witness the current Sri Lanka-England series in England and thousands more are packing venues across Europe to savour the Euro Cup football tournament.
Sri Lankans were earlier not allowed to witness the tours of England, Bangladesh.
