The extent to which money and politics have now corrupted the sport of badminton could not be explained any better after an official connected to the National pool and a player ended up in the Cinnamon Gardens police.
The official alleged that a player had threatened to kill him in a police complaint and the player had also visited the police station with a lawyer and a voice recording of what was said to be arguments that had taken place between the two during a tournament.
After making a full inquiry, the police could not find any evidence the official was threatened.
The player claimed the false complaint was made to bring him to disrepute. (TBR)
