The Mihintale-Lake House Aloka pooja organised by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) for the 59th consecutive year will be held at the Mihintale Raja Maha Vihara from June 23 - 25. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will grace the event on Poson Poya Day (24).
The Lake House Aloka Pooja is held with the State Poson Festival at the sacred Mihintale Raja Maha Vihara under the guidance of Mihintale Raja Maha Viharadhipathi Ven. Dr. Walawahengunawewe Dhammarathana Nayaka Thera.
Dialog and the Ceylon Electricity Board are collaborating with Lake House on the Aloka pooja.
Parallel to the Poson Poya, the Rathana Sutta will be chanted consecutively for a week to invoke blessings on the country, its people and the world.
The National Education Institute and students will hold a Digital Poson Zone within the Mihintale sacred premises. However, Poson Poya Day programs and other events will not be open to the public due to health regulations.
