PM at the Gangaramaya

The Buddha Rashmi National Vesak Zone of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple was opened by Prime Minister and Minister of Buddhasasana , Religious and Cultural Affairs Mahinda Rajapaksa on Vesak Day (May 26). After the religious observances, the Premier also attended the program to offer educational scholarships to 100 Samanera bhikkhus who are studying at Pirivenas. The Anushasana was also conducted by Ven. Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thera of the Gangaramaya Temple. Later the Premier opened the Buddha Rashmi National Vesak Zone at the Seema Malakaya of the Gangaramaya Temple. Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa was also present.
