Bihandu Nanayakkara-Manuth Dassanayake
Manuth Dassanayake (U-11) and Bihandu Nanayakkara (U-13) of Gateway College Colombo won the Age Group Championships at the recently concluded Junior National Open Squash Championships played at the Sinhalese Sports Club.
Dassanayake won the U-11 Championship when he beat Kaveen Kohombange of Stafford International School 03-01 - (11-6) (12-10) (7-11) (11-8) in the final.
Nanayakkara playing the final against Tharul Pinwatta of Royal College, won by a margin of 03-00 - (11-2) (11-2) (11-3).
Playing in the U-11 Novices, Oshadha Udumalagala secured the runner-up position losing to Risindu Perera of St. Peter’s College.
Gateway College is coached by CH Thalagala who has been responsible for training the juniors from the very beginning.
