The Navy apprehended 54 Indian nationals who were poaching in Sri Lankan waters along with 05 fishing vessels.
All 54 persons were apprehended as regular patrols were conducted in order to curb illegal fishing activities in Sri Lankan waters which ultimately results the local fishing community.
The fishing vessels and Indian nationals were directed to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
