Advisory for severe lightning issued

An AMBER weather advisory has been issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Center for severe lightning.

Advisory states that fairly heavy showers accompanied by severe  lightning are likely to occur at several places  in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle, Matara and  Kurunegala districts.  

The general public is urged to find shelter indoors and avoid using electric appliances during the thundershowers.
